In this article, you will learn how to add/edit media using the powerful photo editing tool built directly into the CareerArc platform.
CareerArc has an incredibly powerful photo editing tool that allows user to create their own images directly in the asset library. It is also possible to upload an image to the asset library and then use the photo editor to edit existing images directly in your asset library.
Steps to creating media from the photo editor:
To create media from the photo editor, select Assets:
This will take you to the asset library page, showing all the media assets already added to your account. On this page, you can filter the assets you are viewing across the top of the page. Filter options include the asset name, labels, brands associated with the asset, EB Categories, job post settings, and media type. Many of these categorizations can be added and edited within the right-side panel that loads when selecting an asset.
In this example, we have used the "driver" keyword to filter the job titles to show all the jobs with the word "driver" in the title.
Select the Add Media option at the top right of the page and then select Create image:
This will take you to the new image page where you can either search for images in the Pexels library, or you can upload a new image from your computer. Once you select your image, it will load the image in the preview box to begin the photo editing process.
At the top left of the page you have your editing options.
Filters: select the filters icon to choose from different filters that you can apply to the image. Select any filter you would like to apply and then adjust the settings to the filter:
Crop: select the crop icon to adjust the crop size of the image. You can make this a custom size or select the recommended job post size. At the bottom of the image, you can flip vertically/horizontally, tilt the image, and rotate the image.
Text: Select the text icon to create a plain text design to place over the image. The plain text editor allows you choose the font, size, alignment, text color, background color and even the line spacing of the text.
Text design: select the text design icon to choose from pre-designed text versions to add to the look and feel of your image. The text design options allow you to change the text color, choose from many different text designs, move to the front or invert the text over your image.
Stickers: select the stickers icon to choose from many different shapes and emoticons that you can add to your image. Selecting a shape or emoticon will allow you to adjust the opacity of the sticker, the sticker color, and the size and shape of the sticker.
The page will redirect to the list of assets in the asset library, showing the latest uploads at the top of the page. Your asset is now ready to be categorized, so it can be used in posts across the system. Select the name of the asset you would like to categorize. This will open the right-side panel for the asset, allowing you to edit the following:
- Edit: Select the three dots to edit the name, manage labels, or delete the hashtag.
- Add labels: labels are used to categorize your assets, so you can find them easily via search. Labels are different than tagging images, and they have no connection to the automated posting in CareerArc.
- Manage jobs: select this option to manage the jobs your hashtag is eligible for distribution.
- Off: the hashtag will not be used for any job posts.
- All jobs: this hashtag is allowed to be used for all job posts.
- Specific jobs: you can use our job tags filter to define the specific jobs that can use this hashtag in posts.
- Manage EB Categories: this allows you to select specific employer brand categories where this hashtag can be used for posts.
Once you have edited your posting rules, select Save to return to the asset library page. The image you added/edited will be at the top of the page showing the title, the amount of matching jobs based on your posting rules, and the EB category assigned to the image.
Images can always be edited later by selecting the name of the image and following the same steps outlined above. Deleting an image can be done with our bulk menu selection on the Assets page. Select the images you would like to delete with the checkbox to the left of the image and then the delete option that appears at the top of the page:
